3 weeks left

So I now have three weeks to go (actually 2 weeks, 6 days.... but who's counting)! I had my doctor's appointment yesterday, and everything is still looking really good. Dr. Stalker said that my body is doing exactly everything it should be.... she said so far I have been pretty much textbook.
The cool thing was that right away she noticed that my belly has changed since last week... she said that my belly is now "all baby"!! And the baby has dropped quited a bit so now I am carrying fairly low. All this basically means is that I have to pee every two seconds, compared to every two minutes!
Another sign that I am getting ready to deliver is that I haven't gained any weight for three weeks. This is a little confusing to me since I am getting bigger, but I am not going to complain. Another great sign is that I am actually 1 cm dialated already, so I know that at least things are progressing.... it still doesn't mean that I will deliver on time or anything. My doctor told me that she only prefers to let her patients go 10 days over, so I guess the latest I will go will be the 28th if I have to. I really don't want to go that far over due though!! On time would be great!!! (I know I am dreaming..... but please, let me dream!) ;)
Well I think that next weeks appointment shoudl be fairly interesting.... Dr. Stalker warned me that it is a JURSI (3rd and 4th year med students) teaching morning, so I'll have a bunch of med students at my appointment. I don't really care though, plus Dr. Stalker made a deal with me that if I let the JURSI's in, I can keep my pants on!!! YAY!!!
Well besides having a cold (and not being able to take anything for it), everything is good. I am fairly tired, but I can't really sleep very well either, so I am taking the opportunity to get in all the napping I can before the baby comes.
Anyways, I'll keep you all posted and I'll put up a picture next week when I am only 2 WEEKS!!!!
Hopefully these weeks will go by super fast.... and I hopefully will find things to do to make the time go by faster. If anyone has some "time-wasting" suggestions I would appreciate them.

Four weeks and counting (sort of....)

So here is my picture at 36 weeks, which was on Thursday. I am almost 37 weeks now, but nothing has changed all that much. I am definitly ready to have the baby out of me!!! I can't wait for other people to be able to hold the baby, and it will be nice to be able to bend again.
Most of all I am excited to see what our baby will look like! I can't wait... and I know that Daryl is super excited too!
I am now going to the doctor every week. My dream is that I will go and she'll say "oh, your 8 centemeters dialated, that means you'll have the baby any day now"! I really don't think that is going to happen, but a girl can dream can't she? I am actually thinking that the baby will come around the 25th, but I wouldn't be upset if I had the baby early.
My mom is coming on the 13th (I'm due on the 18th), and she is bringing the dresser/ changing table with her (We painted it on Easter... it's super cute). So basically anytime after the 13th we'll be ready for the baby.
Well thanks for being patient with my lack of blogging.... I will hopefully figure out how to do the whole picture thing so then I won't have to wait for Daryl.... he's super busy working on the Cal-break video right now!!
Well bye for now, and I'll make sure I put up the 38 week picture on time.

Together again

So Daryl and I went to Barrhead, AB to visit my family for Easter. It was a really great time, and it was worth the 6 hour trip (and my incredibly swollen ankles). One of the highlights was that Kailey and Crystal (my girlfriends from Hay River days) came and visited with us on Good Friday! We haven't been together for over a year and I haven't even seen Crystal since last May. It was a lot of fun, and it felt like old times. Crystal just came back from India, and Kailey just came back Mexico, so it was interesting to hear their stories. Crystal had some CRAZY adventures that's for sure!
Well I promise that I will update you all on the pregnancy soon... I just need to figure out how to get the pictures off the camera and onto the computer. See this is what happens when you have a computer saavy husband..... you don't learn how to do anything!!

Bursting at the seams!!

Well, I can't believe that I still have just over 4 weeks to go! I feel like I am about to burst!!! The baby is moving so much, I can hardly get a good nights sleep in (which is why I am writing this at 1:30 in the morning!!) I guess she is just preparing me for when she is born. It's actually kind of freaky when she is moving, because people can see my belly moving from across the room. My parents really enjoyed the "belly dancing" that took place when we saw them this weekend. They got a real kick out of it (no pun intended).
I would also like to point out that my little girl has definately taken after her mom in the hiccup department. She gets the hicupps at least twice a day, which isn't the most comfortable sensation ever. The 'best' part is when she is kicking me and she has the hicupps.... that is a weird feeling let me tell you!!
I also want to know who the genious was that called Braxton hicks "false labour"!! After experiencing these Braxtons I can tell you that there is nothing false about them!! Apparently some pregnant women only feel their belly hardening (or contracting if you will), and they feel a little uncomfortable. Lucky for me I get the hardening AND the painful cramping too!! I wonder if that means that my "Real" contractions are going to be super bad..... or maybe it'll mean I'll just be more prepared for the "real" thing. (PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE!!!)
I do have something positive that I can focus on (as silly as it is)..... here it is..... I still have an inny belly button!!! That's right no outty for me. At this point it is almost level, but it is still an inny none the less!!! I am quite proud of it, but I probably won't be showing it off any time soon.
Well I should go off to bed and see if this little munchkin will let me go to sleep!!
Stay tuned for the 36 week picture that will be coming soon!! (I look like a blimp!!)

6 weeks and counting

Well today I officially only have 6 weeks to go. Of course that is if I deliver our baby right on it's due date (May 18th), which isn't very likely. I am trying to prepare myself that I will probably go a week or so over the date, but I am secretly hoping that I will have the baby early. (I guess that isn't really that big of a secret).
So Daryl and I were super surprised that we were having a girl, especially since this baby moves so much and is very fiesty! I was sure that meant we were having a boy, but then people keep pointing out that I am not exactly "mild". Good point.
I had a scary thought the other day.... "We are going to have a teenage daughter!!!" YIKES!! I am already praying that she won't take after her mother in the adolescence department. If she is only half as bad as I was, she'll be a handful! I think my mom is looking forward to witnessing that sweet justice! Maybe for those teen years we'll just send our daughter to live with Grandma and Grandpa! ;)
Well this weekend (Friday and Saturday) we are going to our prenatal classes! We have already been warned about the videos that they show us. Apparently the people in the videos all have the worst labours and are all screamers. And if that wasn't bad enough most of them decide to deliver naked!!! YIKES!! I would just like to say "Not going to happen!!!" I am a little concerned about this weekend.... I hope that it isn't too repetitive. Hopefully we'll learn some stuff, which shouldn't be hard since Daryl and I have no clue what to expect. I have a doctor's appointment on Thursday, so I imagine after these classes I will have a ton of questions for Dr. Stalker.
Well I should go, this baby needs to eat (Okay, I need to eat, but it's easier to blame all of my eating on the baby!!)

It's a......

So Daryl and I had the ultrasound yesterday, and everything went really well. The place we went to wouldn't really tell us anything so that was frustrating. I guess I'll have to wait until my doctor's appointment to find out the important stuff like the size of the head and the width of the shoulders. I am hoping that we will stick to the small theme that has been going on. It was really great to see our baby, but it was hard because you could only see small parts at a time. We werre able to see the face really well though, and the baby was sucking it's thumb like crazy. I don't think that it liked having it's face pushed around though, because it was fighting back pretty hard and was moving so much the technition was having a hard time measuring things. We got a negative-picture thing this time so I don't know if I'll be able to post it, but I'll see if Daryl can figure out a way.
But for most of you you probably don't really care about this stuff and are just wondering whether we are having a boy or a girl, and thankfully the radiologist was able to tell us that at least!!
So we are having a ..... girl!!!! We are really excited and are still trying to get over the shock of it since we both thought that we were having a boy. I am super pumped to see Daryl with his little girl.... I think it will be really cute!!
So we are telling everyone the sex of the baby, but we decided we aren't going to tell anyone the name that we have picked out. That way no one can give us their "two cents" on the name, or we won't have any hurt feelings if the couples who are having babies before us pick that particular name. Well that's it for now, we'll keep you all posted.
